Vanessa Waddell
I am a trained counsellor with an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative) awarded by CPCAB. Prior to this, I did Volunteer Alcohol Counsellor Training and a Certificate in Christian Counselling. I have also completed The Foundation for Infant Loss Training and the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) Foundation Course in Infertility Counselling. I am an accredited registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I undertake regular Continuing Professional Development to refresh and enhance my skills. In recent years I have completed courses in written word therapy and Solution- Focused Brief Therapy.
I consider myself an integrative practitioner and work using a range of theories including 'person-centred', 'attachment theory,' 'Compassion Focused Therapy' and 'Cognitive Behavioural Therapy' (CBT). I believe above all, that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the most important determining factor in positive results for the client, which is why I am open to feedback and invite regular reviews. I am warm, empathic and down to earth. I have been told I am easy to talk to.
I work face-to-face, over the telephone and online. I have completed 'Moving your practice online-a brief course for counsellors, psychotherapists and mental health practitioners' by Online Therapy Institute.
